[Jason Brown]REALLY? Have you been beta testing?
-Jason
Yeah Totally, I’ll post it online for you. Its a BETA so its pretty buggy, but you will be able to see how it doesn’t have any finishing features.

[David Battistella ]Step back. Look at the large picture of an application that needs to do MUCH more than the four walls around your “facility”.
Shit on apple all you want and go AVID or premiere, but it would be a mistake.
I think you have mistaken my criticism of Final Cut Pro X, its not about it as an editorial tool, its more about it as a STUDIO APP and APPLE TEASING people to embrace its STUDIO capabilities. A finishing tool Final Cut Pro X is NOT. Yes I will probably use it everyday when it comes out, but their are no finishing features integrated into this program. That is why I am disapointed. I was a SHAKE Power user as well as an APPLE COLOR power user, those where future tools for Final Cut Studio, not nesting.

[Jason Jenkins]Can’t you keep using FCP 7? I edited for 4 years on FCP 5 without upgrading.
haha, I know you are joking, but that is funny. Maybe we should all use MSDOS? or a Commodore pet? So funny, so funny. -

Much was said how it was the jaw-dropping, ground-breaking, futuristic application.
Sorry, this nothing like it.
For people upgrading for iMOVIE, this is jaw-dropping. For people having to DOWNGRADE from Final Cut Studio, this is a Nightmare. Steve Jobbs can suck it. At least it might bring the industry back up to a better wage since Apple isn’t going to mess with the Pro Market anymore.

Ships in Junefor $299.00 can be downloaded from app store
Sounds like the new iMovie to me. I have been editing for almost 15 years, I can edit with Final Cut Pro as it is fine, like a DEMON. It needs finishing tools, not a bunch of iMovie like sh*t. The new stuff in Final Cut is silly foo foo stuff for ProSumers.

April 13, 2011 at 2:56 am in reply to: Where is the best place to follow the supermeet reveal in real time?[Michael Gissing] Tough crowd. So 64 bit, background rendering, built in Pluraleyes syncing software, sub frame audio scrubbing doesn’t impress?
Making updates to a program isn’t a need for praise. If an OS is 64bit so should it apps.. Don’t give me a medal for putting gas in my car so I get home. Most of the innovations so far are PLUGINS not some fundamental change for an editor. I can do without everything I have seen so far. All the stuff they are going ape sh*t over are all about their nesting features. Cool, but kinda who cares.

DaVinci Resolve Lite
Resolve 8 looks great, but I guess the purpose of DaVinci Resolve Lite is to make sure that everyone grades with DaVinci? If it weren’t for the two node limit, I could get by with the free version for a lot of work. Free DaVinci? Totally Insane…
