I also noticed this problem. Some posts are not visible to me… until I log out. Then I see them. Very strange.

Make sure you have updated Vegas to the latest build (594/595) and installed the latest video drivers

Yes, it is possible in Vegas. You must set your project to 2.35:1 aspect ratio (eg. 1280×544), then go to Pan/Crop settings of every clip and run Match Output Aspect command in the context menu. Finally, you need to create the appropriate render template and render. Voila!
