Howdy
Yup all cards installed in correct slots , all running latest firmware.
We have now removed black magic decklink and substituted AJA box.
So far so good. A crash or 2 is expected and we can live with.
I dont think magic bullet could cause our issues .. crashes were there before we started grading.

One techie reckons we were bottle necking the front side bus. the raid card and the blackmagic are perhaps fighting for bandwidth on the main board?

lets hope aja will help sort this out?

i have used a freeware utility called Mpeg stream clip , which easily allows for you to convert multiple 5d and 7d mov’s to pro res hq or lt or other codecs .

it is available at https://www.squared5.com for download.

rather nifty app , you can run it in the background while still cutting on fcp etc.
