Is this still happening? Could you post a screen grab of your right click menu that also includes the icon of the sequence you’re having trouble with?

Step 1: Click Wrench icon in Sequence window, make sure Show Video Thumbnails is checked.
Step 2: Choose the type of thumbnails by clicking the hamburger menu and selecting from the list.
Step 3: If you still have no thumbnails make sure your track height is high enough to allow them, cmd+= raises video track height by default
