  • [Steve Rhoden] “Well, glad you got that sorted….. I should have asked you
earlier, where is your finished renders destined?”

Where am I outputting my renders? Well I render all my files on my C drive which is my Windows Drive. I output all my renders to the desktop of my C drive if thats what you mean.

Would it be possible for you to render the other way in Vegas? By selecting Project -> Render As.

I never liked using the “Make Movie” feature due to not being able to see what it was doing when I selected the “Upload to YouTube” feature.

When I render my files through “Render As” I usually choose between two different profiles. A compressed low filesize YouTube template and a High Quality high filesize template.

My YouTube template uses MainConcept AVC/AAC(*.mp4)

My other template uses Windows Media Video V11(*.wmv)

  • Thanks again for your help.

After another day of testing I seemed to have found a solution.

Using the exact same Sony Vegas settings I decided to re-record my footage but this time using the H.264 format in Avermedia center.

The strange thing I discovered was that my MPEG-2 recording was being detected by Sony Vegas as being a 30FPS file. The H.264 was deteced as a 29.970FPS file. Windows told me the same thing for both files.

I wonder did that have something to do with it.
Either way, I’m happy I found a way to render GC/Wii footage without problems. Just a pity I have to switch recording methods for different devices.

    Thanks again!

  • [Steve Rhoden] “Then render out the video and audio separately, then drop
them back on the timeline accordingly, then make your final
render. (You need not worry about quality loss).”

Thanks for the suggestions but does that mean for each recording I make I would have to render my clip three times? A video render, a audio render and a final render?

Is there no other solution? I would look at that as a bit of a last resort.
