One useful thing in that case is to use a “Y” cable and go into both camera inputs, with one set maybe 3 db lower as insurance against excessive peaking.

That would be because most private individuals do not have the means that enable them to bribe lawmakers (should I say “make campaign contributions to..” or “hire lobbyists to…” instead?) to tilt the legislation in their favor.

As Jeff says, hit the “home” key (to get to the very head of the timeline) and zoom all the way in to verify that there’s not a single empty frame in the timeline before program start. If there is, right-click into it and hit “ripple delete” to bring your program to the zero point.
