  • How to remove first black frame in PPro Export

    Hello,

I’m new to Premiere Pro, I may be missing a button somewhere. But when I export a timeline from PPro CS 5.5 using the Export option, and convert into H.264, a single frame of black is inserted before the video starts. It’s not existing on the timeline, and has no audio underneath it. It’s just there, like a spacer, before the video in the timeline starts.

How do I get rid of this?

    Thanks,
    Timothy

I haven’t seen that, but then I guess I always am fading up from black and wouldn’t notice. Have you zoomed into the timeline down to the frame level to verify that there is not in fact an empty frame before the video clips starts?

Another thing to try would be to “Export Work Area” rather than “Entire Sequence”, and move In point of the work area over a frame or two.

As Jeff says, hit the “home” key (to get to the very head of the timeline) and zoom all the way in to verify that there’s not a single empty frame in the timeline before program start. If there is, right-click into it and hit “ripple delete” to bring your program to the zero point.

Looks like I just need to chalk it down to user error. Appears black is the preview frame in Quicktime 10, which I hadn’t noticed before.

    Hi,

I have been experiencing this problem in the latest Premiere Pro CC 2015 update. I am exporting “sequence in/out” but unless I move the in point to be in between a clip I get a black frame at the beginning. I am working in the middle of the timeline due to the nature of my editing.

    Any suggestions would be great!

    Henry
