  • And those are the right questions.

Either will be high-risk if it’s really low budget.

If it’s recorded only, find a good local lighter/shooter who can either ask your questions while standing alongside the camera, or arrange a phone hookup into an IFB earpiece – ideally also recorded on a discrete audio track.

Live will cost you, even if it’s over broadband you’ll want a good chunk of bandwidth and a solid connection. Don’t even think about doing this over wireless. And the good local lighter/shooter will still be important.

Add to that the fact that it will become public faster than anyone even two year ago ever thought possible.

Really, the only protection where someone is paying for something is in the CEU (Continuing Education Unit) world, where the credit is the “dongle” needed. Anyone can watch, only those who have paid get the necessary professional continuing education credits.

I am also developing this sort of service in conjunction with one of my clients.

There’s a lot more to it than just capture and encode. There’s a lot of organization to be developed, especially if it’s a matter of reintegrating it into an existing library/archive.

  • I suspect the best you can hope for is to tweak each of them using the same monitor and subject matter beforehand, then once you’ve got them as close as possible, do the rest in post.

[walter biscardi] “Checking literally millions of links to ensure not a single one contains a copyright issue before presenting the results of a search for example, would be silly.”

With respect, Walter, it would often be impossible.

Last I heard YouTube receives approximately 48 hours of material during every minute of every day. Examining that is simply beyond the range of real-world possibility.

    Everyone is not YouTube. Still…

CS 3 or 4 would work well enough, though HD material might be a bit taxing.
