I asume you mean the folks at EZNews. The only issue (and it has nothing to do with them) is it is very hard to find an encoder. Unless of course you are willing to pay some big bucks. Anyway, January 1st is fast approaching!

    Matt,

I just received my “newsroom” software with the builtin “CC” software, now I’m just waiting for my encoder.

    Matt,

Yes, we use HD trays. They woek OK, but their little plastic arms are not very strong.

Having produced a weekly syndicated show for nearly two years, we have stacks of hard drives…but about a year ago I decided to take advantage of Adobe’s EDL Manager and save our story segments to DVD-ROM. One it is cost-effective and two it is much easier to retrieve a story for re-airing. Stored and handled properly the information should last for years. If you do decide to go this direction, use quality media.

-Just reloaded all drivers and added the latest Intel driver for it’s RAID chip…haven’t seen much of a difference.
-Right now I’m moving files over to another drive and I am going to undo my RAID…speed test individual drives and maybe create a RIAD with 2 and not 3 HD’s

    Shane

-Regarding the timeline…I am using Black Magic NTSC
-I haven’t had a chance to uninstall any of aforementioned components…been too busy.
-As for the SATA drives, they are brand spanking new!

Could this poping be an issue of the Intel “on-board” RAID?

    Thanks

    Paul,

Interesting…I’ve read post on several forums, but no one seems to have an answer to why this is happening.

    Paul,

That’s OK! Yes, we have installed the latest software. Tested our drives and seem fast enough…just don’t understand it.

    Matt,

We too have to conform with FCC regs next month. After searching for the answer (believe me there are few options out there) we have decided to purchase a single user newsroom software package by EZNews that includes CC software and an encoder. The total price was half that of the MacCation software. And the nice thing about this software, it allows us to back time our program too.
