it sounds like you want to track your logo into the sky. if i’m understanding you post… check out tracking – but you might be hard pressed to find a tracking point in your sky, unless you have a random black cloud

i don’t find a need for it. if i would like to see where a specific comp is being used i right click on comp in project window and ‘reveal in comps.’ even in large projects i find that’s as much as i need.

ok taking a stab in the dark here as i’m not sure i quite understand the issue–

i think the boxes in the corner you are seeing as simply indicating that you have that layer selected. they’re not actually apart of your composition, they’re just to tell you that’s the layer you’ve selected.

when you create a new colour (i assume you’re creating a new solid) – don’t scale up the solid, rather make the solid itself bigger to begin with (CNTL SHIFT Y to change it’s size)

i saw a great cartoon in Computer Arts (UK magazine) recently.

DESIGNER is sitting at computer, PRODUCER walks in.

PRODUCER: I’ve want an image of this house.
DESIGER: Great. I can sketch it freehand and make it look all arty.
PRODUCER: No, I want something more solid.
DESIGNER: Okay, well i can do it in PS and make it look all stylised.
PRODUCER: No, I want something more fluid.
DESIGNER: Well, do you actually know what you want?
PRODUCER: No. But I’m sure once you’ve done it six times, I’ll have worked it out.
