For making a spiral check out a tutorial I made a few years back when I sounded like girl.

    https://vimeo.com/29659246

It’ll shows you how to make a spiral and make them go in a true orbit around something.

Yep! Rasterization really messing things up! I didn’t know that you had a 3D replicator on the text. In the project you uploaded there was no replicator. Hey, if you still want that shadow, just duplicate the text layer, angle it 90 degrees, color it black, set the opacity to 50, and place it on the floor & enjoy animating! There ya go!
Flatten just screws the whole 3D up. Well, you have fun with the project!

    Hey Justin!

I had just the problem you had on one of my earlier projects! Here’s the problem. Rasterization. You can read more about it here https://help.apple.com/motion/mac/5.0/en/motion/usermanual/#chapter=A%26section=6

So, assuming you read above, you need to make the layer 2D, or flatten it. In the group controls for final_logo, select flatten. This will solve your shadow problem. Now, you have to work the lights somehow so that only one light effects that layer, as the 3 shadows is crazy!
Do you know how to arrange the shadows so only one light is showing?

    BTW, NICE animation!

    I hope I helped.

Haha Ok I have mFlare! I LOVE mFlare! I got it half off 🙂 because of black friday. I didn’t see that flare! Is it a preset or did you have to make it?

  • Hey, for a 3D earth, you could download Fx Factory https://www.noiseindustries.com/fxfactory/
Then, enable industrial revolutions freebie one pack (F1). You’ll get for free, CoverFlux, World (the 3d world generator), opposites, and rack focus.

Try out the 3D world generator. You can change a bunch of it’s features. You can even change cloud cover and things like that.

Another thing you could do is to get a map and apply the sphere distortion effect to it and animate the map.

Well yes, It works a lot better without rendering the RAM playback. At least for me. Once the RAM preview is created, the FPS is soo low it’s not even workable. I just have to change something to un-render it. I think Apple did a bad job with the RAM preview.
