    Okay thank you very much, that is what I thought that the source files and the rendering output would have to be identical. Is there a setting or option that will automatically adjust the encoding settings to match those of the source video? Or is it completely manual? Also would there be any difference between MPEG2 codecs? I know Vegas uses the Main Concept MPEG codecs…

    Thanks, I made sure that the enable no-recompress long GOP rendering box was checked and it was. If I split the source file or make any other changes it will need to re-encode the video, am I correct?
