I am using Qube Xport and FCP/Compressor to make DCP – we are a small arts organisation using Qube as a way of avoiding expensive post-production companies – and i have read everywhere that the dcp MUST be in 24fps to be DCI compliant. yet Qube Xport allows you to make a 25fps DCP from a 25fps quicktime. i have watched the 25fps DCP in the local cinema and it looks fine. So, my questions are, is there any specific reason that a projectionist would be unhappy to receive a 25fps DCP? Is there a reason why a venue couldn’t or wouldn’t play a 25fps DCP? And if the source file is 25fps is it best to stick with 25fps for the DCP or convert to 24fps [using cinetools etc] in order to be compliant with DCI?

Many thanks in advance for your advice.

    Adam.
