I have a project that needed this exact thing,

your text needs to be paragraph text,

but the only problem is as the text resizes, the paragraph box also resizes and you may have to stretch the paragraph bounding box horizontally or vertically depending on what you type.

see project enclosed, there are 2 options, text builds down, or text builds from center. the orange solid is your limit and you can change the solid’s dimension. it’s a guide layer, it won’t appear in the final result.

yes its possible, but are you saying that if the text becomes 3 lines it needs to be exactly the height of the combined 2 lines you have shown in your example ?

you can also apply this expression to the scale of the text layer itself, but you would need to do a little math; try something like this but you will have to modify it, likely 59 is not your magic number. also pay attention to your anchor point.

x= 1920/thisLayer.sourceRectAtTime(time).width*59;

[x,x]

and I assume you dont want the text to get bigger so better to clamp it at 100%

so this instead

x= 1920/thisLayer.sourceRectAtTime(time).width*59;

yclamp= clamp(x,1,100);

well i never know what the text will be so the slider ( for the 1080 comps only ) could represent the spaces, and as i slide the slider up, it will change the line break, for example;

title is – ONCE UPON A TIME IN AFTER EFFECTS

SLIDER AT 0 WOULD BE –

first use keyframe assitant to convert audio amplitude to keyframes then expression the fill color to the both channels slider with the code below;

then you can change the numbers to something else. You realize this will change the color at every frame though ?
