Yes, over 4 gigs. We finally imported by playing back from the camera & digitizing via firewire. I’d still like to know what happened and why… and more importantly, how to prevent in the future. Regardless, I’ll give your suggestion a shot. Thanks!

I’ve used them a couple time in a pinch – no problems.

I’m beta testing an SGPro unit with the HVX200:

Using it with Nikon lenses & so far very impressed with the look & image quality. Very little light loss. My only “issue” – images are flipped 180 degrees, so you need to take this into consideration when shooting (need an external monitor) and post (need to flip clips 180 degrees).

I’m beta testing an SGPro with the HVX200. SD looks terrific; very film-like depth of field (or lack thereof). HD is currently a little soft. To my knowledge this is an issue specific to the HVX200; the manufacturer has been very responsive & is making some adjustments to the SGPro setup & optics that should resolve this. They are also coming out with a follow-focus in late August.

One note – a lot of these units (including the SGPro) flip the image 180 degrees. This is by design (I suspect to preserve image quality & keep the cost down). This is very easy to “fix” in post by flipping the image. However… in the field you’ll need a montor capable of flipping 180… otherwise you’ll be trying to shoot upsidedown & backwards… not an easy task….

Here’s another “low cost/high quality” option:

I emailed Specialized Communications and was told it was not compatible with the G5 (or any Mac for that matter).

Thanks for all the suggestions! Looks like my client is going with a 4-head card from Digital Tigers and PowerShow (software that works with PowerPoint).
