New to Premiere from FCP myself. Has the option to choose a single attribute when performing ‘paste attributes’ been added in CS6 yet or still not there?

  • Just in case anyone else finds themselves having to do this same type of repetitive task, I did find a little trick to help speed things up.

If you twirl down the motion tab on one image you can than copy/paste attributes to the rest of the images in your sequence. This way, every time you click on a new image the motion tab will already be open saving some of the repetitive motion involved and speeding up the workflow.

  • Thanks Jim but I find it nearly impossible to move an image up/down in the program window using this method without the ‘x’ value changing as well. I have no wiggle room on the sides of the frames so this value has to stay the same. Thus the question about a modifier to allow me to constrain the movement to up/down only.

What is the best way to contact Adobe about feature requests? I am currently set to edit two feature length animatics and the constrain modifier would be a welcome addition to my tool set in Premiere. Probably not an issue for most people but perhaps Adobe will add this if the request is made.

  • Thank you for the response. Much appreciated.

I have a couple thousand boards that will need to be adjusted for the new mask that has been implemented. Unfortunately each one needs to be adjusted individually per the action in the frame so not many opportunities for copy/paste.

I have been adjusting the position via the effects panel but it adds quite a bit of time when adjusting hundreds of images. Hopefully Adobe will implement the shortcut functionality from AE down the road.

    Hi Andrew,
I am in the same situation and was wondering how your testing went. Were you able to get the mercury engine working with the 5770?

Ted, I got my comp layer issues sorted and this is working like a charm. Exactly the look I wanted, thank you!

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually tried to do that last night but when I pre-comped the layers the overall look of the project changed. The initial project was started by someone else and I am not sure why pre-comping all the layers caused this shift.

EDIT: Figured out the culprits in the pre-comp issue. I will give this method a shot, thanks!
