That is a PCIe x4 card, my motherboard is not made by Asus and only has a (Gen 1) PCIe x1 and PCI slot free. I don’t think it will work even for (due to lack of bandwidth) 480p… and I doubt BMD will respond for confirmation.

Hi, thanks for the reply. What USB 3.0 card and motherboard are you using? Could you link the USB card? Since your system can not use the full 3.0 bandwidth, what have you found the Shuttle to max out when using this setup? Is 480p the max you can capture (with audio) hdmi or rca audio? Do both HDMI can Component capture work?
If I couldn’t get the Shuttle to work, I was also thinking of getting a MXO2 Mini, which does up to 1080p30 using a PCIe x1 slot and supports 8-Channel LPCM too, just does not support 480p can costs $200 more.

Hey, did you ever come up with anything?

A updated that added “NTSC Progressive” (i.e 480p) to the Intensity Pro, Intensity Shuttle and UltraStudio Pro went live a few weeks ago. For some unknown reason the DeckLink HD Extreme 3D+ and Extreme 3 were left out of out this update and all my attempts for a reason why or to find out if this update will also come to the HD Extreme cards have gone unanswered by BlackMagic. So…

February 17, 2011 at 9:25 pm in reply to: Question for those who own a DeckLink HD Extreme 3D+Hello Joshua, thank you for the reply. I was hoping the recent update that added NTSC Progressive capture to the UltraStudio Pro and Intensity Shuttle was also extended to the DeckLink HD Extreme 3D+, but it sounds like that was not the case. Do you know if there any such plans to do so in the near future? Thanks, Aaron

November 25, 2010 at 11:45 am in reply to: Any news on RGB 8-Bit v.i HDMI with the Decklink HD Extreme 3D+?Could someone from blackmagic PLEASE respond to my above questions with the next few days? I found a great price for a Decklink HD Extreme 3D+, but I would need to know the above features would be added in the near feature v.i firmware upgrade before I could purchase.
Thank you,

October 9, 2010 at 12:20 am in reply to: 480p – How about some false advertising to chew onI just don’t understand how you can classify 8-bit RGB 4:4:4 as “typically a computer type format and not commonly used in the video world” or say that it is “not a commonly requested capture format”.
I mean, on the below website:
https://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/decklinkhdextreme/Under “New HDMI 1.4 Support” it says:
Now you can capture 3D from devices such as cameras and “gaming consoles” into two separate full resolution video files, one for each eye.Well the hardware of these HDMI gaming consoles (Xbox 360/PlayStation 3) output their video games in NATIVE 8-bit RGB 4:4:4. So why would anyone want to capture NATIVE 8-bit RGB 4:4:4 as YUV 8-Bit 4:2:2? And now that the Decklink HD Extreme 3D+ supports 3D over HDMI (i.e PlayStation 3), again, why would one want to capture a NATIVE 720p 3D 8-bit RGB 4:4:4 source as 3D YUV 8-Bit 4:2:2?
I know 480p has been requested as a feature for a long time but maybe 8-bit RGB 4:4:4 has not been high on the feature request list because many of those who capture are not aware of it or are fine capturing in YUV.
I am just so tired of being limited to YUV 4:2:2 … my sources are RGB 4:4:4 and I want to be able to capture them as such. Other companies offer capture hardware that supports 8-bit RGB 4:4:4, don’t you want to keep up with competitors?
Digital Foundry has such a capture card that also supports 1.4 HDMI w/ 3D.
It supports 8-bit RGB 4:4:4 from 480p60 to 1080p60 but only stereo for audio.
Cost for the card is $3,500+
https://www.digitalfoundry.org/showcase2/true_hd_express.htmlGrassValley is releasing a breakout box that among other things, supports HDMI YCbCr4:2:2 or RGB4:4:4 (8/10-bit) from 480p60 to 1080p60 w/ LPCM 8-channel (24-bit/48 kHz) audio (but no 3D support from what I can tell).
The cost for breakout box is $6,500+
https://www.grassvalley.com/products/storm_3g_eliteI am not looking to spend that much nor could I justify spending so much. The Decklink HD Extreme 3D+ does ALMOST everything I am looking v.i HDMI (up to 1080p60/3D/LPCM 8-channel audio) for at a cost of $1,000. If you could only see to add HDMI capture support of 8-bit RGB 4:4:4 (w/ 16-235/0-255) and fully support 480p, not only would you earn my business, but undercut your competition and attract their customers and new ones.

October 7, 2010 at 11:33 pm in reply to: 480p – How about some false advertising to chew onI share your frustration and agree with everything you said.
Have been wanting/looking to purchase a capture card that meets my requirements for over a year now. The new Decklink HD Extreme 3D+ does almost everything I am looking for. Just will not spend the $1,000 on it until BlackMagic adds at least 8-Bit RGB 4:4:4 capture ability (10-Bit too if possible) for HDMI along with fulfilling their support 480p claim.

September 28, 2010 at 10:42 am in reply to: Could a BM Hardware Engineer PLEASE answer my questions so I can purchase your product?Hello,
#1. Yup! =D
#2. Not sure if you remember, but you and I talked about HDMI RGB capture support with the previous version of the DeckLink HD Extreme 3D. When I heard about the new DeckLink HD Extreme 3D+ version of the card I was hoping it would have shipped with HDMI 8-Bit/10-Bit RGB 4:4:4 capture support or at least now have the ability to do it since HDMI hardware was updated. Will the DeckLink HD Extreme 3D+ support RGB4:4:4 (8/10-bit) capture in the near future with driver/firmware updates?
#3. Is there any ETA for correct understanding and capture of 480p?
I REALLY want to purchase the DeckLink HD Extreme 3D+, but need the card to allow for RGB4:4:4 (8/10-bit) capture over HDMI along with 480p support before it meets all of my requirements.
Thanks,
Aaron
