I have this setup on my workstation. It works…sorta. The display will freeze occasionally. Hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del will restore operation. Kind of a PITA, but, it works.

Hi, thanks for the reply. What USB 3.0 card and motherboard are you using? Could you link the USB card? Since your system can not use the full 3.0 bandwidth, what have you found the Shuttle to max out when using this setup? Is 480p the max you can capture (with audio) hdmi or rca audio? Do both HDMI can Component capture work?

If I couldn’t get the Shuttle to work, I was also thinking of getting a MXO2 Mini, which does up to 1080p30 using a PCIe x1 slot and supports 8-Channel LPCM too, just does not support 480p can costs $200 more.

The USB3 PCI card was one recommended by BMD(Asus U3S6), however, it was very hard to find, since it is no longer manufactured.

That is a PCIe x4 card, my motherboard is not made by Asus and only has a (Gen 1) PCIe x1 and PCI slot free. I don’t think it will work even for (due to lack of bandwidth) 480p… and I doubt BMD will respond for confirmation.
