    Depends on your box.

    On a Dual G5: maybe 6 hours for a 1.5 hour film
On a newer MacPro: realtime or faster

export your HD sequence, NOT self contained. Drop into DVD Studio Pro. In the info tab for the track you create, under “display mode” make sure it says 16×9 anamorphic.

It’ll make a nice, 23.98, SD letterbox DVD for you automagically

rendering to dvcproHD? it would assume anamorphic in that case. Animation codec, etc, should be ok

Sounds like driver issues. A call to AJA tech support?

10bit works great on Tiger and Kona 3.

HD or SD? What kind of capture card?

right off the bat, sounds like the drive can’t keep up. Do you have a fw800 RAID you can try (like a G-Raid)?

I will say this about Color. A friend of ours who works at Company 3, a senior colorist, said Color was very good. He was almost as comfortable obtaining the results he wanted from Color as from his DaVinci.

So as an *interface*, it is ready to compete with the big boys. It just needs a huge I/O and bug fix.

[walter biscardi] “Yeah, speaking of which, whatever happened to “Phenomenon?” That was the code name for the Shake Replacement. Maybe those guys were re-assigned to the iPhone Apps store…..”

Well the Shake head, and most of their top programmers, left. Went to the Foundry and are working on Nuke… which incidentally has taken off like gangbusters since Shake went EOL.

Color is defiantly worth the price of admission. In fact after using it, I’m pulling hair every time I need to CC in After Effects. Let’s hope it doesn’t go the way of Shake.
