Do you have a MacPro? You really want to set up for cluster rendering ….. it takes a LOT of time when you crank those frame controls up.

Make a 23.98 compressor preset, set Frame Controls to High for rate conversion. It’ll do an OK job.

There’s no such thing as an AE qiucktime codec: it’s probably rending to Animation codec. In the FCP browser it will have the exact codec listed.
FCP works in 1080/25 pal as an interlaced format. Odd fields dominant.
What are your sequence settings in FCP? Did you try settings the field dominance to none? Did you try rending to the codec that your FCP sequence is in (like ProRes)?

Are you working in 23.98? 59.94i? 23.98 with a 3:2 pulldown to 59.94?
What is your source material? Are you bringing in 1080 video and working on it? Or creating original animation solely in AE?
What codec are you rendering to? ProRes? 10bit uncompressed? What are your sequence settings in AE? 1080 ProRes 23.98?
AE to FCP works great, but we need more info to help you!

Using the “Build/Format” menu in DVD-SP. You have the option to write the DVD to an data file. Choose “.img” and then simply rename the file to “.iso” before you send it.

….somehow, and it depends on the hardware because every deck is different, you need to tell your DV deck to RECORD/LOOK AT the analog video feeds coming into it. There should be some sort of “input” buttons that tell the deck to cycle the inputs it’s looking at.

It’s Toast that’s the problem.
Your workflow is good IF you were using DVD Studio Pro. In DVD-SP you would simply select “16:9” as your Display Mode for the video track and it would properly tell your DVD player to display it as a progressive, 16×9 anamorphic source. Sounds like it’s forcing a 4:3 letterbox and possibly trying to add in frames to make 30fps.
So hopefully someone who knows Toast can chime in.

Or if your’re in a jam, speed ramp your audio to 99.99 in FCP.

Make sure to set your DSLR shutter speed to 1/60th if you’re filming at 30fps. 1/50 at 24fps.
That’ll give you the motion blur typical of a 180 degree shutter on a film camera that looks “filmy”

EDIT: Ah…. it only works with footage that has a reel number assigned. So for this gig shot on 7D we need to add reel numbers to all the quicktimes……
