zooming into 1080/60i, avoiding interlacing problems
I have some clips that I need to zoom into on the timeline (camera operator was using an oversized windscreen that pokes into upper-right corner of the frame). When I resize arbitrarily in the timeline, I immediately start seeing interlace artifacts and flickering. I expect these can be eliminated with the de-interlace filter but wonder if this is my best option vs. picking better resize factor than my arbitrary 108.87%, any advice is much appreciated, Thanks

First, it’s obvious you monitoring with only a computer monitor — so it’s only natural that you’d see the interlace. This is why pros use I/O cards to display to true video monitors. So, don’t deinterlace unless you want to lose 50% of your resolution — the interlace will go away when you playback on a DVD or proper monitor.
Probably best to use an even whole number so that scan lines fall into their proper place.
