Zoom H4N and USB playback
Hi guys,
I am relatively new to audio work. I have a Zoom H4n and I’m using external XLR microphones.
I thought I would effectively try using my PC as the “mixer” by connecting the Zoom H4N to my PC via USB. A couple of issues emerge:
1. When I use my headphones as a playback device, the sound recording from the microphone comes in “one ear”. I read that to fix this, you can change to monomix. However, when you are running in “USB connected mode” Monomix doesn’t seem to be an option. How can I get it to play through both headphones?
2. There seems to be a slight delay in my mic and headphones. It’s not huge, but it makes my voice sound really slow. Any fixes for this?

You may not be able to get playback of one source in both headphones.
What program on your computer are you using to receiver the audio via USB from your Zoom device?Yes, latency (delay) is common with USB devices. Try monitoring via your Zoom rather than your computer.
