Is the camera found in the Device Manager?

    hi,
    thanks for responding so fast
I don’t know where is the device manager, but in the capture, the device is not available.

I cannot do this, which is in the help :
From the Device drop-down list, choose your HDV camera.
    best regards

In Windows XP to find the Device Manager – right click on My Computer, click on Manage. Click on Device Manager.
In Vista, click Start, Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, then Device Manager.

Doubleclick on IEEE1394, this will show that your Firewire (Ilink) is working.
Look for another entry with your camera name. My cam shows up under Imaging Device. Not all devices show up in the same place, so look around.

Have you ever used the camera with a computer? Usually you connect the cable (Firewire/Ilink) to the Camera and Computer before turning the camera on to playback mode for copying from the tape. The computer will acknowledge that the camera is found and will install drivers automatically.

If this does not happen and you can not see the camera in Device Manager you may have failed entry’s in the Device Manager for multimedia devices. Remove these entry’s and re-boot the computer before turning the camera on again.

    hope this helps

When you press the “Capture Video” button, are you using the “HDV or SDI” capture option?
If you don’t see this option, you’ve defaulted to the “DV” mode.
This can be changed in Options – Prefs – Video by de-selecting the “Use external capture application” button.
    Now try capturing again.

Bob, for future users who do a search on this topic, would you be kind enough to tell us what worked for you?
    Thanks.
