Z- Depth
Hi!
I’m having troubles rendering just the depth pass out of Cinema 4D.
I want to render my animationin black and white (black for far and white for closest to the camera)
I checked “depth” in the multipass options of the render settings and output to TIFF Images, but only get completely black frames.
What am I doing wrong? I searched the forum and found similar questions, but could not find a answer to my problem

Unfortunately you can’t render just a depth pass (or any pass) without rendering the actual animation. Best you can do is eliminate as much as possible from the scene to reduce render times without messing up the depth pass.

Be sure you are enabling the “Front Blur” feature in the Depth tab of your Camera. Start tweaking/refining the values in the “Front Blur” and “Target Distance” fields to optimize your depth pass. Again, you only have to enable front or rear blur (most of the time, I use front).
