I knew it would be something simple on my part. I went ahead and right clicked to change to output aspect ratio for all my graphics – that will be the last time I make that mistake.
And for all you future searchers of this “problem” on Creative Cow – whatever format you shoot in, leave it that way throughout all your renders and project settings!

So as I right clicked and right clicked and right clicked, I discovered something – something you probably already know John, but could help future users who have aspect ratio problems. The little pan/crop box next to each clip turned from blue to white after I changed the clip to match output aspect. So Vegas is smart enough to know that your project aspect ratio and clip aspect ratios don’t match!?!? Cool.

No, blue color means that the Pan/Crop settings were changed, that’s all.

Yea, the blue is just telling you that you have applied a Pan/Crop (i.e., pan/crop is active).

hey john im having a slight problem u see i just got into doing editing and things for sony vegas but the problem is when i upload to youtube a 30 second edit is like 4 gigs and its taking me nearly a day to upload any suggestion?

You should be rendering as Sony AVC with one of the Internet 30p templates.
