I know this question has been asked 100’s of times. I have read to set it as MPeg4 with MP3 audio. When I try to change the audio, it doesn’t give me that option.
    Can anyone help?
I tried it as WMV, but the quality was totally lost.

Use the Sony AVC render type. If you have Vegas Pro 9.0 just select one of the “Internet” templates which are already set for YouTube. If you don’t have Vegas Pro 9.0 make your own Sony AVC template using AVC video and AAC audio. You could also use the MainConcept AVC type starting with the Apple iPod template.

Remember to de-interlace, as web is progressive.

My own experience is that VirtualDub does a better de-interlace than Vegas.
