You need my Steadicam… you know you do
This is a cross-post with Cinematography, I hope no one minds….
Well, I’ve put my Steadicam up for sale on eBay yet again. I tried before but it didn’t sell (price was too high then, I guess…. I have lowered it).
If anyone is interested in a full-size rig (perfect for RED, Alexa, tricked out C300-700 or URSA Mini, etc.), then this is the rig for you! This is a real Cinema Products Steadicam®, not a clone or knockoff.
I used to use it a great deal when shooting 35mm…. it has flown Arri ARRICAM LT, Konvas 7M, MovieCam Compact, etc…

Add the Weyland-Utani Close fire support smartgun package, market it to cosplayers that love the film: “Aliens”. Try the “re-branding” on an eBay posting aimed at that community pitching it as the basis of that movie prop, and I will bet you a donut you get some bids. I think the market for tiny gimbals and drones and sliders and the other camera support tech toys has captured the buying public’s imagination over their common sense sometimes.

Here’s the funny thing… I had another eBay auction up, too…. for an old full-size Sony camcorder that has been taking up real estate on a shelf for fifteen years.
I just sold it… to a Hollywood prop house. I cannot think of a more fitting place for it to go, I’m actually thrilled.
