You like Apple 23″ or BenQ’s 24″?
Posted by Kent Beeson on January 1, 2008 at 12:54 amWas thinking of getting 2 x 23″ Cinema displays or 2 x BenQ’s 24″ FP241W – any experience with cutting HDV on either? Which is recommended for true color, few if any pixel problems, reliability, good for video as well as Photoshop/web work?
Thanks for advice

January 1, 2008 at 7:18 pmI don’t have a BenQ 24″ but I do have the T905 19″ display, so I don’t know if there’s a quality difference between the two models. What I can tell you though, is that after a while my eyes get tired looking at the BenQ display but they don’t with any of my Apple displays.

January 1, 2008 at 7:23 pmVery helpful to know this about eye strain – if after 8-10 hours a monitor still looks good with little eye strain, it’s a good monitor!
Would love to hear from anyone who has experience with the BenQ 24″ as I’m trying to decide between the two – Apple 23″ or BenQ 24″…any color issues, dead pixel problems after a couple of months, etc…Thanks for replies.

January 2, 2008 at 4:14 pmHit Macworld and Maclife for reviews of displays. The market is much larger than just those two devices. We have lots of satisfied Dell and NEC users around here.
Personally, I only buy Apple displays for all of our graphics and video stations’ primary monitors. We’ve got 16 of them. Everyone around here uses old CRTs and erfurbed Dells for second displays.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
