Hi all.. I have an XSR 14x500Gb on a Raid5 on each side, hooked to an Dual G5 trough Fibre. I’m using as video capture storage for uncompress 10bit SD Video

For some reason I have a low performance on my system. I run some speed tests and give an average of 72.4Mb/Sec on Read, and 52.6Mb/Sec on write, on each side. I know that Xserve Raid runs @ 120something, so something is wrong.
I change cables, card slot, and peaty much is the same.
I notice is that the raid controller give me only 64Mb for the cache size (Is this suppose to be 128) if there any way to upgrade the cache memory to make it faster ?) Or my raid controllers has some damage.

What do I need to look at. Setup, Hardware.. Any direction is very welcome.

How full is it? Those things tank at higher capacity or in heavy fragmentation.

It’s like 60%, if there any other thing that I need to look in order to the fragmentation?.

    Thanks

go to Raid Admin, click on SETTINGS, enter the password (private is the password), and TURN OFF Cache Flushing.
    Bet things get better.
