  XMP Files on Export

  I don’t understand why Premiere exports a .xmp every time I export a .mpg from Premiere.
  I’ve been just ignoring and deleting these for the past year or so and never really thought about it.
  Now I decided to figure out what their deal is. I have a mac at home and never get these xmp files. They only appear when I’m exporting to .mpg on my work PC. Is this an export setting that I’m not seeing? Is it bad that I just delete them?
