    Hi everyone/anyone!?!

So confused. Anyone have any tips on what is usually a simple concept. Edit in FCP Studio2 online in fcp 5 (better plug-ins), export out xml 2. Open it up in FCP5.

Everytime I try to export out xml data it crashes after 1 or 2%. Exporting from a MacBookPro 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo. Memory 4gb OS 10.4.10

Project details: Mostly hdv footage. A few upscaled dvpal clips. Project length 2.5 minutes.

    Thanks for your time.

Final Cut 5.1.2 was the first to support HDV native, I believe. Do you have at least that version of FCP5?

try exporting your sequence out in smaller segments, avoid nested sequences whenever possible .. very large projects/sequences can bog down on xml export/import
alos, by using smaller segments you should be able to isolate exactly what section is causing the problem
nested sequences often don’t transfer well

    hope it helps

    Thanks for responding.

I’m actually having a problem exporting out of FCP6 (studio2).
Keeps crashing after 1 or 2%

FCP5.0 was the first version with native HDV support

    Hi there,
Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, I’ve already tried that – still no joy. The sequence is not nested. Any other ideas?

okay, just to be clear, you’re saying that you have already broken your sequence down into multiple short segments and that you have tried to export each and every one of those segments as individual xml’s and every one fails at about 1%-2% during the export?

try exporting a single clip item frm the browser (not a sequence) … does that work?
if so, create a new sequence and add that clip to it, now try to export that new sequnece (containing only that single clip) … does that work?
