    Hi Everybody,

I received from another editor an XML File (because I work on FCP 6 and she 7).
When I try to open this file, I get thefollowing Message Box:
“Pleas choose a translation document file” – what does that mean?
Usually I do not get such a box, but it just opens the XML.

It sounds like the xml is corrupt. I’ve seen this message a few times too. Usually if the other editor re-exports a new XML, it will be fine. It also can’t hurt to zip the file before emailing or FTP’ing.

    Hope this helps,

We found the problem, she set the Interchange to Version 4, this setting was accepted by FCP 6.
It seems that the standard setting is not readable by 6, but when you set it to 4 it’s ok.

    Thanx.

Makes sense … I wonder if we had to do that too and I just forgot about it 🙂 Thanks for the follow up, Sascha.
