XL H1 HD-SDI out at 1080p24 ?
I am trying to capture into FCP via Blackmagic card that has the XL H1 attached via HD-SDI.
I can only seem to capture 1080i60 or 1080i50 (using the BMD Easy Setups)
I can not seem to capture 1080psf23.98 or 1080p24 (using the BMD Easy Setups), I get the “No Video Input” BMD window in log and capture.How do i capture to 1080psf23.98 or 1080p24 Uncompressed 10bit with this setup?
I have the Canon XL H1 in HDV24F mode… is there another setting I need to change on this camera?

I believe the HDSDI on the XLH1 is only 60i. The camera records the HDV 24F but the HDSDI doesn’t come out that way. If you can take the firewire out of the camera you can get the 24 frame signal. HTH

Correct.
Since HDV is 8-bit, perhaps you could first try ingesting as HDV 1080p24 and then re-compress the clips in your sequence with the FCP Media Manager to 8-bit Uncompressed and play them back as 8-bit Uncompressed 23.98 with the BMD card.
I haven’t tried the above yet with a Black Magic Card but it may work.
