We’re planning to do a shoot tomorrow using the Canon Xl H1, going SDI directly into the DeckLink / FCP 5.0 G5.

Has anyone done this, and have suggestions of what settings to use? Our RAID does not support uncomp. HD, but I was figuring we could get away capturing with a less intense codec.

    Thanks

    Hi Kurt,

DVCPRO HD is your friend. 🙂

Just use the easy setups for DVCPRO HD in 1080i we supply in Final Cut Pro.

Due to the length of the shoot, we ended up using tape.

The HDV format is only loosley compatible with FCP. Definately had some issues that that one.
