I shoot conference / seminar video and I’ve a client who wants me to provide a firewire A/V out from my camera to his live webstream equipment. Problem is that my Canon XH-A1 firewire out will be connected to a DTE / Hard Drive Recorder like a Firestore or some equivalent. Correct me if I’m wrong but I seem to recall there’s only one firewire port I/O so I don’t believe you can daisy-chain the signal to some device like a “Telestream” or “NewTek”.

Could I do a Firewire Hub between the camera and DTE? Would that work?

    Thanks in advance.

Look in markertek.com for firewire hubs and distribution amplifiers. Make sure you buy whatever additional cables you need with the right connectors (4 pin, 6 pin)
