    Hi.

We’re looking to build a machine with as low rendering times as possible for the following:

Input: Gopro mp4 about 950mb raw files
    output: mp4 around 300mb.
SPV13 settings as in the included pic:svp13.jpg

Already have RAM, SSDs and PSU but I’m totally in the dark regarding CPU:
High speed Xeon quad core or more cores at lower speed (total budget is around 800USD) or should we go for I7 instead?

I’d really like to se rendering times around real time.

    Thanks for your help!

    Any input?

[Jan Vegard Carlsson] “High speed Xeon quad core or more cores at lower speed (total budget is around 800USD) or should we go for I7 instead?”

That depends on the speeds you are talking about. For example, a 4 core x 3.4 Ghz = total 13.6Ghz while 6 core x 2.8Ghz = 16.8 Ghz so the 6 core with slower speed still has more processing power. Vegas Pro makes good use of multiple cores so the 6 core might be a better performer.
