    Hi everybody,

i have a question regarding the realtime dual link to single link feature the xena 2k offers.

I want to pass through my dual link signal coming from a nvidia quadro fx sdi card to get a single link signal which i can feed my ultrascope with. The quadro is in the very same machine.

    The problem is the following:
Everything works fine if i have the machina software open and the window is in focus but as soon as i minimize the software or close it, the function stops working…I was hoping the card would keep the settings and would just work even without the software running.
    Any ideas?

I would love to be able to use the card for this function instead of being forced to buy an expensive converter box…

    Thank you,

    Timor

Sorry it is my understanding that is not the way the card and software is designed to work in dual link mode. Thats just way too much data to not have the process controlling the machine.

Yes I understand that you are only using the card to pass data thru, but it is still handling a dual link 444 signal and I do not know of a capture utility that can run in the background in that manner.

I am going to assume that you know you are not getting a proper look on any scope with Dual Link RGB 444 concatenated down to a 422 YUV signal.

    Hi Gary,

sorry for the slow response and thank you for the feedback.

I really thought that the software only tells the card what to do (setting wise) and it keeps that setting until you change it (that´s how our ioHD works). I was under the impression that all the conversion is done by the cards hardware only and it would not matter if there is a software controlling it or not (like the the blackmagic ultrascope which is looping sdi video through even if the software is not running).

I know that monitoring in 4:2:2 is not the same as 4:4:4, i was just hoping that the luminance levels would not be affected and that´s the most important part…(we just cannot afford a 4:4:4 scope at the moment)

    Thank you,
    Timor
