XDcam to DVD
Hey,
Hope all is well. I just finished filming a few hockey games that were all around 2 hours. I shot them with the Sony EX1 and and using FCP. After editing the short clips together I am using compressor to export the video for a DVD. The problem is that compressor is taking 16+ hours to export a single game 2 hour. Does this seem correct? -

I’m no expert, but I have indeed noticed how much longer it takes to render HD to mpg2 in Compressor since I have started using it. In my DVCam days I could plan on codecing a 10-20 minute program in less than an hour. Now it seems to take a good part of the day. Seems odd that it should take so long, but it does.

Ya its a bummer because it imports/transfers so much faster but then when you go to export to DVD it takes just as long to get a finished product out…
