    Hello,

We are using CatDV to manage a collection of HD video taken with a Sony XDCAM EX3 camera. We have a Matrox compressHD card which we want to use to create H.264 proxies.

I am running into problems maintaining the correct aspect ratio (16:9).
On the Preferences/Previews & Thumbnails window I need to specify a size. But it only allows me to specify the width and then automatically sets the height by itself. It will not let me set a size with 16:9 aspect ratio.

I then select the “Custom” option, where I then have a number of options to specify the size.

It seems that these two things are conflicting with each other. I cannot seem to produce HD proxy files with the size I want (512×288). Does anyone know how I can do this?

    Kind Regards

If you click the “Customise” button and go into the video settings you can set a size in the QT dialog box, that’s anything you like.

It should override the first pulldown window in the “P&T” preference pane.

Try that and see if it works it out.

    Thanks – that worked.

I needed to uncheck the “Preserve aspect ratio using” box.
