Seems like every month there’s some new flavor of XDCam I can’t import natively.

A few weeks ago I was able to download the plug-in from Sony and the updates from Apple and import XAVC no problem.

Today I just got a drive which is supposedly XDCam. Shot to disc. Not familiar with disc structure. But they send us a drive. It simply has a folder called clip, and inside that folder there is nothing but mxf and xml files. None of which can be read by fcpx or the finder.

XDCam transfer will convert them to XDCam movs however, so it’s not really a problem. Just wondering if I’m missing something or if the camera op didn’t send the full structure. Since I’ve got all the updates to X and the sony plug-in that allows xdcam and xavc and it works with xavc, I’m guessing I didn’t get the full file structure.

    Bret,

I’m pretty sure that isn’t the full directory structure …

    Best,
    John

Yeah – I figured. Lucky xdcam transfer had no problem.

If it was a F5, the card structure is this:

And all I got was a clip folder.
