Does anyone know if you can burn 35 Mb/s XDCAM HD files to the Sony BWU-100A Blu-Ray burners? This seems like it could be an ideal workflow to me for mastering programming and especially long-form “films” after acquiring at XDCAM HD at 35 Mb/second and editing those files natively in Vegas 7.

The Blu-Ray format does support a data rate this fast, so I’m sure you could at least “save” the MPEG 2 master at that file size, and later “open” the file to a computer, but would that screen normally from a Blu-Ray player?

I’m thinking about this workflow not only because the XDCAM HD “decks” are so expensive, but also because they won’t master a long form project (over one hour) at 35 Mb/s.

    Tip,
There may be a way to do this but DVD Arch does not support Blu-ray or HD-DVD.
You would need a program that can burn compatible BD Rom files.
I heard Ulead DVD Movie Factory platinum can burn these files and possibly scenarist 4.
try searching the AVS forums for others attempting a similar feat.
