I am using the XDCAM transfer software from Sony with FCP 5.04 and it seems to be working fine. I was under the impression that you had to be using FCP 5.1 with the transfer software. Anyone else using FCP 5.04? Any problems?

    Thanks Dave

I’m currently trying XDCAM Transfer with FCP 5.1.

Despite it being talked about as a replacement for Flip4Mac it seems to lack a crucial element. That being the ability to connect to an XDCAM deck (in this case the PDW-1500) via ethernet.

    Am I missing something?

Currently the Flip4 Mac transfer software via Eithernet only imports as a HDV codec, hopefully they will change this, and make it the same codec that Sony uses for import.
