Does anyone know about a workflow that includes PPro and editing with the low res proxies found on an XDCAM HD disc? Sony Vegas can import and use the proxies on a timeline where you can cut with them etc however on my CS3 system I appear to be unable to use them.

I don’t have CS4 and it is unclear in the literature I have been able to read about it.

    Any ideas?

I’m doing an EX-1 project right now…I’m not sure there are proxies in the MP4 content from the EX-1. Are you using XDcamHD from optical disc?

I’m not having any problem running the full res files during editing, but I could see someone rough cutting on a laptop…

Thanks for your reply Tim, yes exactly XDCAM HD (low res proxies from Optical Disc instead of high res) and rough cutting with a laptop with the low res. proxies to supply timeline of base cut.

Vegas can do it, but my Producers have earlier versions of Prem. any ideas?

Hmmm… I don’t know of any “official” method of accessing those proxies…but I’ll see if I can come up with something…

I’ve not worked with XDcam from optical disk as of yet…

Do you have some media I could look at?

    My email is tim@kolbproductions.com

    YouSendIt works well…

I’d like to see shot in its natural habitat…so if you could send me a shot with the online clip and the proxy in the typical file structure so I can see if I can load the proxy and get it to find its big brother …

    Thanks
