I’m editing an XDCAM-EX project in FCP, and would rather not transcode everything to ProRes or another intermediate if I can avoid it. I ran a basic test and didn’t see a huge difference in performance between the two. Am I asking for trouble staying in EX?

    Thanks!

Let me clarify: I already have the piece cut in FCP (and yes, it did give me some trouble, though I eased the pain a bit by working in a ProRes sequence). At this point, I just need to send a number of shots to AE for some compositing– so regardless of how FCP handles it, is AE going to give me issues as well?

I do have AE 10… I think I’ll give it a shot, then.

    Wouldn’t dream of it 🙂
