I’m wondering if anyone can confirm the correct sequence settings for me when down converting XDCAM to SD.

I’m working in PAL with XDCAM HD422 1080i50 (50mb/s) footage and needing to edit in SD for a few reasons (intercutting with SD material but XDCAM footage is the bulk of the footage).

I’m putting the footage into a sequence set to:
720×576 (CCIR 601/DV PAL 5:4), anamorphic, upper field and Apple Pro Res 422.

The footage has to be rendered before outputting but looks fine.

I’m not sure whether I actually need to be setting my sequence to 768×576 square pixels or whether I should convert my footage to Apple Pro Res in compressor prior to the edit (which is time consuming & uses extra drive space).

    Any thoughts?
