Im shooting with a 5D MKII.

I want to convert my 5D footage to the XDCAM format by using a program called Mpeg Stream Clip –

In Mpeg Stream Clip there is no ‘XDCAM Codec’ to choose from. I do have Sony Vegas which can convert to XDCAM and I do have ClipBrowser 2.6 installed as well.

Vista however, doesn’t seem to know of any XDCAM codec installed. I ran Windows Media Player, pressed ALT to ge the menu, went to HELP -> About -> Technical Support Information and in there are all my codecs with XDCAM not there.

Do I need some ‘standalone’ XDCAM codec fro Mpeg StreamClip to use?
If so, where do I get it? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

I’m not sure why you’d go from the codec used in the 5D (AVCHD?) to XDCAM EX as going from a heavily compressed codec to another heavily compressed codec is not good. In any case I suspect MPEGStreamclip looks for the codec in Quicktime, Vegas supports it through some other method. In short, they’re not looking in the same place for codec support.
