In xdcam browser when I’m trying to add title 1, title 2 or description to the clips I cant because fields are grey out in the xdcam browser… and I cant put “in” and “out” point, they are also greyed out, clips are loaded in the preview window.
I’m working with dv (avi) files and I’m trying to add description to the clips, update them with title and descriptions.

    camera sony Ex1R
    OS is windows 7
    xdcam browser version 2.6

    Thanks for help

Not sure but you can try downloading XDCAM clip browser v2.1.

v2.6 is the XDCAM EX specific clip browser. I think the regular XDCAM browser is more generic and might work for you.

I have already tried browser version 2.1 and the same thing, cant update clips
On mac OS I don’t have problems updating clips (title and description)
Can it be done with dv format in browser or it has to be hd format, I don’t see why it shouldn’t work in both format, hm..

Sorry if this is obvious reply, but did you double click (open) the clip first and then try typing on it? The clip must be opened in order to unlock the grey field boxes.

Unfortunately I have opened the clip first and I can preview it in the preview window but I cant mark in and out point, and update title and description of the clip, those options are greyed out.

anyway thanks for your effort 🙂
I hope someone has encountered similar problem and found the solution 🙂

Check the file permissions of the folder where your XML files and MP4 files are located, you should try right clicking on the entire root folder BPAV or CLPR and cascading new permissions down to all files to have full read/write access..

I thought of this in my sleep last night.

you can only edit those fields on registered (i.e. part of a disc image) HD clips in the .MXF or .MP4 format

In the xdcam browser, v2.1, I cannot view mp4 clips on SDHC cards shot with the NX5. I have downloaded all the provided drivers, but still no luck. help.
