XAVC S in After Effects
Hi guys, this is more of a question rather than a discussion. Any tips are appreciated! So, I am editing a short video for a pal and the codec of the video is XAVC-S. After done with color and roto brush, I started to export. I didn’t go with AME, just QuickTime, Apple Prores 422 straight in After Effects’ render queue. Here is what freaked me out, a 1 minute 30 seconds video cost 6 hours to render!
My workstation:
16 Gigs of Ram
Intel Corei7
1 TB of SSD
Graphics: Nvidia 970m with 3Gigs of Ram
After Effects and Premiere Pro are newly updated with Adobe CC
I work with different codecs and RAW footages all the time, this had never happened before. Thanks in advance!

Can you take the source clips and conform with AME to ProRes 422 first.
Then switch the files?
I know its a lot of work but there are days when you just have too.
