  XA10 ABCHD, MTS, MOV Footage Export and Conversion Questions – noob

  Forgive me, I posted earlier and it looks like it “double posted” (I’m sure it was my fault) and then was blocked by CC.

  So, I purchased a Canon XA10 for my video class (middle school students).
  We generally are editing using FCE4 (don’t judge me!)

  I’ve been dragging files off of a card for a T3i I have and then converting those files using Mpeg STreamclip.
  That workflow doesn’t NOT seem to work with the footage from the XA10.

  The footage was shot at 60p (I believe).

  when I try to get footage off of the card, I see a folder structure like this:

  -Private (folder)
  –AVCHD (not a folder)
  –CVINFO (folder)
  –MY_MUSIC (folder)
  –MY_PICT (folder)

  Any wisdom/advice?
  I HAVE looked through the forum and found some topics, but they don’t seem to address this particular issue.
  I’d appreciate links if I’m missing a thread I should have seen.
