Wrong Save As…. Premiere Cs5

You can try https://www.piriform.com/recuva to see if it’ll find your deleted autosaves, but if you browse the internet or work on other stuff, save other files, that space on your hard drive where the auto-saves were may have been written over already.

I don’t believe there are any autosaves or recoverable data in the AppData folder where they store the media cache, but I’m not a know-it-all either.

Hi, Angelo Lorenzo.
I didn’t set-up auto-saved at all this time so I don’t know I can find some old session using this Recuva??
I may not sure still I can search old adobe session that I saved as on it using this….

Please let me know any information if you know more!!

Unfortunately Recuva is unable to recover files that have been directly overwritten with the same name.

That doesn’t mean the data is gone as you can never be sure Windows used the same sectors to write the new file to. Most programs, when overwriting a file do a delete and create a new file, it’s not a write-in-place just because file names match; it’s why the possibility exists.

You may be able to use some demos of more expensive professional recovery software to scan your drive for the file. At this point I would install the drive into a different system so you know data isn’t being written on it as you download and install all these recovery programs; basically using another system to scan the offline drive.

You might want to consider using the option Save a copy (to another disk) as Auto Save overwrites itself after a number of times.

As I started when computer editing was even less reliable than it is now, my projects all get incrementally saved (manually) as I work on them. So, in my project folder, I’ll have “myEdit_01.pproj, “myEdit_02.pproj”, “myEdit_03.pproj”, etc. I also have a “myEdit_bak.pproj”, which is a duplicate of whatever the most recent version is.
And these get backed up nightly, too…

I still overwrite projects occassionally. But I have the “myEdit_bak.pproj” to load, then re-save with the proper name. It has saved me from much weeping.

Yes, I should do it like you from next time!
Now, I have to work everything from begging again… It is such a nightmare for me…T.T
